DEVOURED

SYNOPSIS

My mate was taken from me. It’s time I took her back.

Eight years ago Annabella was given to me. Primitive, irresistible need compelled me to devoured_fullclaim her, but it was not just instinct that drove me to punish her defiance and ravage her beautiful body so thoroughly and savagely. Every screaming climax was a brand marking her as mine.

But she was stolen from me, her memory wiped clean by the same madman who gave her to me.

Now she is back on this planet, and this time when I take her I’m going to make sure I keep her.

EXCERPT

Annabella

Alien.

I repeated the word in my mind, unable to believe what my eyes were seeing.

He swung his head from left to right, the guttural snarl he emitted reverberating in my ears.

The creature’s features were remarkably close to human, yet different in every regard. I knew in my gut that he was indeed an alien, a force to be reckoned with. The familiar term of ‘Prince’ meant the captor knew the alien and his background.

“Such a beast, primal.” The unseen man laughed, snorting in a disgusting manner.

The alien issued a series of low-slung animalistic growls, tipping his head in the direction of the observation box, his rage evident by the veins bulging in his neck. He threw back his arms, the chains rattling once again as he announced his anger.

The sigh coming from the captor was exaggerated. “I suggest you calm down, Draziak. If you don’t, I will have no choice but to destroy your mate right in front of your eyes. I doubt you want that to happen. Do you?”

Draziak.I whispered his name in my mind several times, trying to rationalize what the fuck was going on. Mate? Was the captor indicating I was somehow this… monster’s mate? Oh, hell, no. I belonged to no one and I certainly wasn’t going to be a part of a crazy, sick experiment.

Draziak released another snarl before turning his head slowly in my direction, taking a single step closer. My God, his eyes were penetrating, his anger evident as well as something else, which was utterly terrifying.

Carnal hunger.

Fuck. Fuck! I crawled as far as I could go, my back hitting the cold steel.

“That’s it. Take a deep whiff of her. Then you can tell me if I’m wrong.” The captor was obviously very happy with what he’d done. I knew without a doubt I would find a way to kill the bastard.

The alien did just that, easing forward in choppy steps, at least as far as the heavy chain would allow. His nostrils flared as he inhaled, a look of contentment replacing only a portion of his haunted expression.

“What the hell are you trying to prove, fuckhead?” I hissed, realizing I was treading on thin ice. This just wasn’t going to happen. Not a freaking chance in hell. I was sick to my stomach, butterflies swarming as blood pumped in my veins. Just a nightmare. Nothing more.

Yet I no longer believed it.

My thoughts went crazy, trying to wrap around any concept of rationality. I was studying geology, well aware there were ancient civilizations that had been snuffed out during the centuries on the various outposts as well as on Earth. Famine and plagues had been the main reason for their demise. However, in all the documentation I’d read, the computer searches I’d done over the years, there wasn’t a single being that looked like Draziak.

I was also aware there had been multiple contacts with different alien species going as far back as almost one hundred years, only a few noted on Earth. The majority of contact had been through involvement on the outposts. I’d never had the opportunity to work and study on any of Habitable Units before. Obtaining a position was something to be revered. I’d considered myself lucky to be here.

Why hadn’t the handlers preparing our group for the trip warned us about the fact we’d face an alien species? More important, who was this mysterious human and why was he using an alien as a lab rat?

I tried to remember every detail I’d learned about Bellenia before signing my name on the contract. There were various experiments going on, much like every outpost, yet Bellenia was best known for its valuable minerals, rocks that helped created much needed fuel on Earth. But nothing in the documentation had mentioned projects involving aliens.

“I’m not doing anything, Ms. Caruso. Draziak is your rightful mate and he is going to take what belongs to him. Allow them to have some time alone together, Parker.”

“What? What the fuck are you doing?” I screeched, horrified at the words. This couldn’t be happening.

Parker, the glorified lackey, shot a look at the captor, shaking his head before easing some sort of device across Draziak’s wrists and ankles, immediately freeing him.

“What about the girl?” Parker asked, snorting as he glared at me.

“I think Draziak can take care of that.”

“Wait a freaking minute!” Parker snapped. “Didn’t you disable his powers? That was the only reason I agreed to this.”

The captor issued a growl of his own. “Get the fuck out, Parker, if you can’t handle your task. I’ll deal with you later.”

I not only sensed a hesitation in the soldier but could see a glint of fear in his eyes. Whoever this captor was initiated fear as a method of control.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Parker hissed between clenched teeth.

“Then you will obey,” the captor shouted. “Besides, Draziak doesn’t need anything but his brawn. Now, do you?”

I couldn’t help but notice Parker took several strides away from the alien, darting a single glance in my direction.

And I could swear he held an expression of fear.

For my safety.

Draziak rubbed his wrists, his penetrating eyes locked on the observation booth. “You will pay for this, Scorpion. There will be no place on this godforsaken planet where you can hide.”

Scorpion. I swallowed hard, realizing the asshole in the observation booth must be some kind of mercenary. I couldn’t fathom what the hell was going on.

For some reason I was surprised the alien’s voice was deep, velvety in a way that I hadn’t expected. I was startled to think the creature knew our language. This had to be just another nightmare. I would wake up. Do it, Annabella. Do it. Wake up.

“I look forward to the challenge,” the captor stated, his tone more dominant than before. “You have one hour with her. No more.”

Parker quickly moved into the darkness, obviously eager to get the hell away. I clawed at my throat, still trying to make sense of what the fuck was going on.

Draziak roared once again, the sound one I would never forget. An injured animal. Yet this beast was hell bent on revenge.

I’d never succumbed to any man. I’d always been the aggressor; that is, for the two men I’d dated in my life. Right now, I had no idea how to act, willing my mind to shut down. Whatever the alien was going to do to me I knew the chance was I wouldn’t survive.

The alien gave a long exhale, still staring up at the observation booth, his hands clenched in fists and his chest rising and falling rapidly. There was no escaping the fact he was fully aroused, his thick shaft throbbing. Even as sick as I felt, there was an odd stirring coming from deep within.

There was no way I was excited about this. None. I closed my eyes, wiping beads of sweat from my brow, the heat fooling with my mind and my rationality. Breathe. Just breathe.

I heard nothing for a full minute, daring to open my eyes. The sight of the alien crouching only a few inches in front of the cage door was enough to force a whimper from my mouth.

He was staring at me, remaining unblinking as his eyes roamed my body. His nostrils were still flared and every few seconds he took a deep breath. The moment he dragged what appeared to be a forked tongue across his lips, I had to fight the tears threatening to give away every ounce of fear.

And I was terrified.

I hope you enjoyed and oh yes, my alien is quite the dominating force!

Carnal – The Wolfen

I have a brand new start of one HOT paranormal series, the first book HOT off the presses. I do adore shifters, but it’s been a while since I’ve written about them. For the world of the Wolfen, things aren’t always as they seem, even if they are the premier creature on Earth…

CARNAL

Max

“Open your legs for me, Kathleen.” The moment she hesitated, I delivered a series of hard smacks on her naked bottom.

She moaned, blinking several times, finally succumbing. “Yes, sir.” As she opened her legs, her hands flew to her breasts in an attempt to cover her hard, rosy nipples.

I growled, my thirst growing as I climbed onto the bed. “I’m going to feast on your pretty pink pussy. Then I’m going to fuck you in the ass.” As I hunkered down, dragging my roughcarnal_full tongue along the edges of her swollen folds, her whimper and her quivering body were my reward. I couldn’t wait to fuck her.

“Jesus,” I hissed, almost disgusted from the vision, vivid images floating through my mind in a constant reel. I’d thought about nothing but taking her in a primal manner, a match to the beast I truly was. I’d awakened from yet another dream, soaked in sweat and my hunger off the charts. I’d almost transformed in an effort to find some sense of satisfaction.

Control was getting to be difficult.

A growl remained in my throat, low-slung and husky as the beast hungered to breach the surface. Here I was, stalking her like some damn predator.

You are…

I heard every sound on the busy street as I rounded the corner, the ridiculous conversations as people scampered to their required destinations. I noticed every nuance of the men and women walking hundreds of yards away, my keen vision able to detect the pulsing of their throats, the very lifeblood they had flowing.

At this point, I needed a couple of shots of bourbon to squelch the increasing thirst.

I fisted my mouth, shoving aside what many considered to be my natural tendencies. If what I suspected was correct, I would need every ounce of control in order to keep my promise to myself.

I was a fool to think taking her would be that easy. Kathleen Kelly would indeed fight me every step of the way. I rubbed my hand through my hair before holding it into the hint of moonlight, although I didn’t need any light to hone in on every line and pore. Every sense was heightened, even on edge. I crossed the street, heading down the sidewalk. She lived close to the city in an area that most would consider dangerous, yet she didn’t seem to care. The woman acted fearless, refusing to acknowledge any safety concerns.

After moving past several of the homes, I remained on the corner, still able to easily gaze into one of her windows. I could tell she’d recently moved in given the number of boxes piled against one of the walls, the reason I hadn’t seen her in the neighborhood before.

My father told me everything happened for a reason and only when we could handle the significance.

I’d been reduced to a man stalking a woman I barely knew. What the hell was wrong with me?

The big, bad wolf indeed.

You will succumb to me in every way, surrendering your body, your heart, and your soul to my darkest desires. There will be no turning back, no escaping my savage needs. And you will be punished for every infraction.

I snarled after thinking the words, although every one of them was true.

Predator.

An animal that naturally preys on others.

The definition was one I knew well, a brutal desire I’d felt my entire life, the kind of hunger that burned deep within my very soul. If it weren’t for centuries of evolved humanity, my kind would live on their primal needs alone.

Still, there were some who would call me a dangerous man—correction, a monstrous beast. I thought about my earlier confrontation with Stone, knowing my interrogation wouldn’t go over well with the other Nightwalkers, but my visit had been necessary. I’d never allowed a criminal to go free and I wasn’t about to allow that to happen now. I snickered at the thought.

While Brody Miller was still on the run, it wouldn’t be long until he was apprehended. If Stone was lying, he’d connect with Brody within hours. Stone’s mechanic’s shop would be under twenty-four-hour surveillance. He wouldn’t dare allow the fucker to come within two miles of the Nightwalker village for fear of my wrath.

I was ruthless in both my profession and my personal life. Others would simply say I had an innate gut instinct for my job, my hardcore abilities necessary in a profession I’d come to love. I took no shit, refusing to allow anyone to engage in excuses. Because of my fierce nature, I was considered a top notch detective, yet I alienated almost everyone I came into contact with.

As if I gave a shit.

Yet I was damn proud I was extremely good at my chosen profession. I collected human monsters with ease, shoving them behind bars of steel, stripping them of their ability to destroy any additional lives. But I was even worse.

Brutal.

Savage.

Unforgiving.

Which member of my team would be required to hunt me down?

And they would if legends were to be believed, one day our kind would all return to our primitive state.

Then everything would change.

We had our share of enemies, certain factions of humans who truly believed in the prophecy of werewolves, although the term was one we loathed. There were also other species of wolves who would fight us to the death for superiority. And the legend lived on through the eyes of authors and movie producers.

I chuckled as I gathered a whiff of the light breeze. The wondrous stories told over copious glasses of wine grew larger than life with every telling. If the ancient scrolls and the myths were to be believed, we were only years away from that occurrence. Hell, no, not on my watch. I’d heard all the rumors about the disease that had brought us into existence rearing its dormant head, forcing us back into creatures of the night. Sighing, I closed my eyes briefly, my gut telling me everything was about to change.

On this dark and chilly night, I was on edge, much more so than normal. Although I was unaccustomed to giving in to my own nature, I was forced to admit the various fragrances from exotic perfumes to cooking oil were a pungent reminder my senses were highly sensitized and had been for hours.

The reason was simple—a beautiful woman.

All I could think about was taking her, tasting her.

Fucking her.

Ravaging her.

My true destiny.

I remained where I was, watching as one light was switched off, another turned on. She was preparing to exit for the night, leaving a warm glow to fend off would-be criminals. Little did she know the devil himself was hiding in plain sight. I pictured her kitchen, the exquisite yet stark appliances, so very much like the woman hiding behind the mask. I knew the layout of the tidy little space, every dimension and exit by heart.

And I’d never been inside the quaint single-story house.

As the swirl of clouds swept past the almost full moon, every inch of my body was alive. Every blood cell sizzling from extreme heat. Every muscle aching. Every tendon stretched to the snapping point. I was close to turning, but it had nothing to do with a ridiculous gothic myth, a grizzly ghost story told around campfires in the middle of the night. The full moon meant fucking nothing to our kind.

I so hope you enjoyed!

That may be true, but we also love a taste of danger, a heightened sense of thrill with our books. No matter what you love to read, correct hero undercover coveryou’re going to find it in the pages of one sizzling book. Now onto getting to know Alyssa.

THE STRATEGY OF LOVE

The memory of him held Kayla more captive than the kidnappers he’d rescued her from.

SYNOPSIS

Kayla Rhea loved her humanitarian work in Africa even after her kidnapping and subsequent rescue by Ranger Hunter Barrett, the face of a man she hasn’t yet been able to tuck away with the memories of that experience.

Hunter Barrett, now living a civilian life, can’t forget the woman he rescued during his last military mission. Even though he worked for her father on occasion, he has kept out of her way. But life must go on, so it’s time to claim her as his or purge her from his life forever.

EXCERPT

Kayla loved the play. The little taps were stingy but not uncomfortable.  She loved the way it made her pink bits twitch and her breasts tingle. She watched him roll her over and felt him lay three substantial swats to her right cheek, and her juices flowed.

“Mmm, do it again.” She looked over at him.

Hunter raised his right eyebrow and hummed. “My baby likes a little slap and tickle, huh?”

“Please,” she begged.

He rolled her to slap the other cheek. “Now open so I can see how wet you are for me.”

This time she spread them wide. The heat from those few smacks made her warm all over. She’d always known she was intrigued by spanking, but no one had ever spanked her before. She’d been a good kid, but she could learn how to be naughty in the bedroom if she could get these types of results. Kayla lifted her pelvis to help him find her treasures and yelped at the slap on her pussy. She grunted her surprise.

“I’m the boss in here, Kayla. I’ll decide what you need. And I think what you need now is me.”

Kayla watched as Hunter took one hardened nipple into his mouth and sucked with ever increasing strength as he made her writhe with flames of passion. He loved the other breast equally before kissing down her belly. Kayla felt him nip at her labia before peeling back her lower lips to expose the slippery center. She felt herself panic.

Her very experienced girlfriend in college once told her, “Men don’t really like to taste women, Kayla, didn’t anyone ever tell you before?”

“Don’t… I mean, I don’t expect you to.”

He stopped, poised above her most intimate area. “Good to know, but are you saying you don’t like it, or you don’t think I’ll like it?”

“I don’t know if I’ll like it because…” she shrugged her shoulders slightly, “… well, I know guys don’t like it.”

“Sweetheart, I don’t know who told you that, but it’s a lie. Men love it. This man loves it.”

“Oh.” He resumed his task. “Mmm, that feels so nice.”

A Taste for Red – Hero Undercover

I’m very proud to be involved with a compilation coming from Blushing Books. Hero Undercover has 25 amazing stories from talented authors, including me. When I was putting together my piece, I’d seen a story about a mastermind behind wine fraud. Since this girl adores red wine, a story was born. Take a taste… Coming officially on June 27th, but you can pre-order now!

SYNOPSIS

Private Investigator Shanna Jacobs has no issue chasing scumbag criminals down on her Harley. Blackmailed into working with the local police department, the case involving wine fraud utilizes one of her many talents. However, going undercover correct hero undercover coveralongside a sexy cowboy cop may destroy her mask of steel. Detective Cody Walker is estranged from his ranch in Montana, taking the only job offered after his involvement in a horrific incident. Working alongside, Shanna and Cody realize the case isn’t what it seems. As they delve into the clues, sparks fly, but both refuse to accept their growing need. Can he save the woman he’s fallen in love with before it’s too late?

EXCERPT

“All right asshole. Let’s see what you have.” Shanna Jacobs shoved the Glock in the pocket of her jacket, threw her leg over the Harley and buckled her helmet. She kicked the stand into the up position and revved the engine. Mr. Jerkoff thought he could get away. Well, he had another thing coming. She eased the bike out from the alley and waited, watching as he slid into the corvette. He had no idea she was on his tail. The elusive Stoker Wilde, the perp she’d been following for a solid week, didn’t have his entourage with him. Mistake. Bad mistake.

Chuckling, she idled as he started the engine, then she rolled out to the curb. No matter where he went, she would follow.

He roared out of the parking lot, flooring the engine within seconds. She hunkered down and followed closely behind, weaving her way through the darkened city streets. How many nights had she staked out the man who her client believed was responsible for at least two deaths? How many times had he alluded her? Too many. Not tonight. She’d learned all about his weaknesses for wine and women. On this sizzling summer evening, she’d take him down singlehandedly.

Stoker picked up speed, running several red lights as he made his way out of the city. She knew his destination, had learned everything about a man believing himself to be the King. As wind whipped through her hair, she lowered her body toward the handlebars. She had one last chance to catch Stoker in illegal activities before her client walked, securing another investigator. That shit wasn’t going to happen on her watch. She was the best at what she did.

Accelerating out of the city limits he picked up speed, racing past the last of the titty bars and massage parlors, his bread and butter in criminal activity. All she had to do to complete the lucrative assignment was confirm his relationship with the most powerful man in the city. Pictures were worth a thousand words and in her case, ten thousand dollars, money she desperately needed. The prize was worth the danger.

Shanna was careful, remaining behind two cars and a van. After losing him for a few seconds, she craned her neck as he made a sharp turn. No way you’re getting away from me. Ten seconds later she made the same turn and gasped. Flashing blue lights blinded her and she skidded, the bike shifting in a perpendicular manner. She noticed the Bronco crisscrossing the road just seconds before she slammed on her breaks. Where the hell did Stoker go? “Fuck!”

Wham!

man on harleyStars floated in front of her eyes as she rolled across the pavement. She was cognizant enough to hear her beloved Harley crash into an immovable object, the crunch matching her high-pitched scream. The mother fucker had figured out he was being tailed. Then what were the blue lights about? She landed with a hard thud. Every muscle ached like a son of a bitch. There was no way she could pass out. She’d never be seen again. Struggling to move, she managed to turn over, and dug her fingers into the dirt as she opened her eyes. She could vaguely make out a set of cowboy boots and long legs closing the distance.

“Well, well. What do we have here?”

The flashlight beam cut her vision to scattered streams of light. Shanna groaned as she pushed up from the ground. Woozy, she blinked, trying to focus and as unable to see any details of his face. “What in the hell are you doing?”

“I should ask you the same question. You’re lucky to be alive.”

The voice, the husky and sensuous tone was melodic, alluring. She panted as she struggled to figure out what the hell was going on. There was no way she could have lost Stoker. No way. She was a damn good tail. “Who are you?”

The man with the sexy voice crouched down, moving the flashlight out of her eyes. “I think the real question is who are you?”

Mr. Sexy Voice had a chiseled face, hair down to his shoulders and the cutest set of dimples she’d ever seen. She also knew instinctively he was a cop. “You almost killed me.”

“But I didn’t. Your bike might need some adjustments though.”
