I have another wonderful guest today and she’s back for a second time! So happy to share BJ’s latest new and very HOT HOT HOT series. She’s become a good friend and is a fellow Blushing Books author so please say a warm welcome to…

BJ WANE – BOUND AND SAVED

SYNOPSIS

A few weeks after witnessing her stepfather order a cold-blooded murder, Cassandra Bowlin hides aboard a luxury yacht to flee the men after her. Dashing into a closet, she trembles in fear of discovery until the owner enters the room with a woman intent on gaining his sexual favor. The scene she witnesses between the couple BJ Bound and Saved Cover Finalleaves her shaken with arousal, making her wonder what all she had been missing from her own sexual encounters.

Zachary Allen-Vancuren returns to his new, BDSM decked out yacht, eager to take her out on a maiden voyage before presenting her to his friends. After putting several miles between him and the mainland, he slips downstairs and finds he’s stuck with a stowaway with secrets she refuses to divulge and a determination to wring as much from his planned four-day excursion as possible. His refusal to engage in any sexual activities is met with her constant, teasing antics until she finally wears him down and he gives her the lesson she thinks she’s been wanting.
It took interference from a surprising source and two rescues by Zachary to free her of her stepfather’s threats and enable her to embrace a future with the one man she hadn’t been able to resist.

EXCERPT

That did it.  Zach slowed the yacht, throttled down until the large vessel decelerated enough he could cut the engine and still enjoy the slow glide on the water as they drifted.  He’d managed to stay seated while Sandie propped herself on the lounge in his direct line of vision, teasing him with shapely legs he pictured wrapped around his back as he pounded between them.  The quick strokes of her pencil made him as curious about her ability as an artist as he admitted to being about the rest of her body under that shirt.  It had taken extreme effort on his part not to give in to that curiosity and he’d been priding himself on his control before she stood and stretched.

Ignoring his command to remain unaffected, his cock hardened into a painful erection pressing against his zipper.  The final straw came when he watched her bend over the rail, just enough to tease him with a glimpse of the sweet, plump undercurve of her soft buttocks.  She’d been pushing him for a lesson, and as he strode across the deck, he decided it was high time he gave her one.

“What are you doing, Sandie?”

She turned, those green eyes conveying that indescribable ache he had no name for.  The one that pulled at him from the moment he’d startled her awake in his room.

“Taking in the awesome view from your…”  She paused, a light of mischief replacing the ache in her eyes and a small smile flirting with the corners of her mouth as she finished with, “boat.”

He narrowed his eyes, accepting the taunt as he strode forward.  “I warned you.”  Grasping her shoulders, he spun her around, placed her hands together back on the rail, and shackled them in place by wrapping his much larger hand over both hers.  Without pausing, he flipped up the shirt and swatted her silk covered ass, the thin, see-through panties providing no cushiony barrier this time.

Her soft cry resonated across the water along with the slap of the next smack.  “This is what comes when you don’t heed my warnings.”  Two more sharp smacks that bounced her round globes.  “This is just one of my favorite things to torment a woman with.”  Another two, these reddening her sit-spots.  “Sex with me is my way, whatever I demand, whenever I say, wherever I want it.”  He tormented her thighs next, two swift swats on each before caressing his way up to cup one, spank-warm, malleable buttock.

Bending down, he nipped the soft flesh between her shoulder and neck.  He felt her jump, heard her sudden, indrawn breath and could almost swear the slight breeze teased his nose with the pungent aroma of her arousal.  A lesson, he reminded himself with a swift, brutal pushback of his body’s demands.

“You’ve been parading around out here wearing nothing but a shirt and panties to get my attention, haven’t you?”

Shadow – Rescue Me

I’m very excited to have Shadow – Rescue Me releasing later today. This book is the second in the Rescue Me Series, but in truth can be a stand alone read. I love writing romantic suspense and this one will take you further into the lives and loves in Goochland, Virginia – a small town near Richmond and a place so many call horse country. Between the mighty James River threading through the entire countryside, the beautiful rolling hills of greenery and the small town feel, I believe you’re going to love a taste of paradise. However, there’s always a dark side, now isn’t there?

Just who is Shadow? A beautiful Newfoundland puppy rescued from the arms of a group of horrific men, but even dogs have secrets. I hope you enjoy a taste and will consider purchasing.

SYNOPSIS

When a horrific accident awakens Sienna Duncan in the middle of the night, the wretched event drags personal nightmares into the light. Then she’s in the wrong place at the right time, and saves an innocent puppy from a gunshot wound while the perpetrators race away. But she was seen…

Deputy Kane Logan, a transplant from Wyoming, is hopeful of finding salvation in a Shadow_bigsmall town in Virginia. He’s running from tragedies he can no longer tolerate while working on a horrific crime involving the local teenagers. A chance meeting with the stunning beauty awakens his soul and they begin a new and guarded relationship. But someone wants her dead…

As threats continue and Kane fights to save innocent lives from a powerful drug, Sienna is pulled into a game of cat and mouse. Until they’re both forced to face their personal demons. The truth will be told, but at what cost? Is someone from her past threatening her new life? Can she find safety in the arms of the man she loves? Will Kane find the strength to become her protector?

EXCERPT

Screech! Bam!

“No. No!” Fighting, she shoved hard, pushing against the entity preventing her from moving. “Fuck you!” Sienna Duncan roared. Blinking, she thrust her arms to the side and panted, shifting as the unknown being continued to press hard against her body.

“Come to me. Come on, baby. You can do it.” She rushed toward the shore, reaching out. Wading into the water, she shivered as the rain pelted her face. She blinked furiously, trying to see him in the roaring waves. She heard a whimper and moaned. “Where are you?”

Turning sharply, she dove into the waves, kicking out as she attempted to move forward. With each arm stroke, every move forward, she was shoved back. Gulping water, she coughed and continued to struggle, doing her best to keep her eyes on the only creature she loved more than life itself. She watched in horror as the little head bobbed up and down, in and out of the water until he no longer resurfaced.

She swam harder, her adrenaline kicking in. “Baby! No!”

“No!” Sienna panted as she jerked awake. Images lingered, a wretched vision of a forgotten time, a man she thought she cared about turning into a monster. Tears rolled down her cheeks and she gulped for air, coughing and choking as if drowning in a pool of blood. “No. Please God. No.” She rolled over, burying her face into her pillow, and closed her eyes. Sobbing, she beat her fist against the pillow as the memories lingered. They would never leave her, never allow her to find solace. She was alone and very much afraid. This was just a dream, a manifestation of so much pain and confusion.

Liar. Liar. Liar. Liar.

She remained in the same position until the agony passed, replaced with a dull ache, the same one she’d had for over two years. Now wide awake, she groaned. Why in the hell was she having the same dream? Tension. Worry. Extreme sadness. “Goddamn it.”

Breathing in and out, she kept her face buried in the pillow, listening and waiting. After a few seconds, she shifted and opened her eyes, glancing from right to left. A cool breeze wafted across, floating a scent of vanilla and cinnamon. Calming her nerves, she sat up, surveying the darkened room.

She was alone in her bed, in her house. There were no boogeymen waiting to drag her into Hell, at least one considered tangible. Only her nightmares could do that. She remained quiet, studying her surroundings, then shoved the covers away. Another damn dream. They were getting worse, each vision dragging her close to the end. She brushed the tears from her face and cursed under her breath. Pathetic. She was nothing but pathetic.

The wine. That’s why her dreams had been nightmares. Too much wine on an empty stomach. At this rate, she was never getting another good night’s sleep. A dull echo remained in her ears, an intense thudding sound. She’d been awakened for a reason. What had she heard?

Curious, she crawled out of bed and moved toward the window, peering out. The night was dark, moonless and in her mind, foreboding. Seeing nothing, she grabbed her robe and padded toward the kitchen, staring at the microwave clock. Two-thirty am. “Awesome,” she whispered and turned toward the refrigerator. A shimmering light drew her attention.

cowboy standing“What the hell?” Narrowing her eyes, she walked toward the picture window, palming the glass as she attempted to see past the murky haze. There was definitely a light coming from her front yard. A car? Who would come visit at this hour of the morning? Wait. Now she remembered the noise, the metallic sounds and solid slam.

Shoving her feet into her boots, she tentatively unlocked and opened the front door. Squinting, from where she stood, she could just make out a vehicle of some kind, but the angle to the headlights was all wrong. “Oh, no.” A terrible feeling sunk into the pit of her stomach. There’d been too many close calls with drivers almost missing the sharp turn, the road just inches from her driveway. But, this seemed too close. She turned on her porchlight and squinted. There was definitely a vehicle only thirty yards or so from the house, but far removed from the road. What the hell?

Apprehension crawling down her spine, she eased off her front porch, moving toward the light. As her eyes began to focus, she stared in horror at the catastrophe. Steam rolled out from under the crumpled hood of the smashed SUV. The front and passenger side of the vehicle had been sheared off by the massive oak tree. Glass and metal fragments covered the ground. Only the gleam of the one remaining headlight illuminated the horrific wreck.

Racing back inside, she rushed into the kitchen, grabbing the phone and dialing 9-1-1 while she yanked out first one then a second kitchen drawer. “Where the hell is the flashlight? Yes. I’d like to report an accident.”

She prattled off her address as she wrapped her hand around the cool cylinder. “Yes. Thank you. Please hurry.” After testing the light, she took long strides, breaking into a run when she was off the porch. A single flash told her everything she didn’t want to know. There were three occupants and zero air bags. No one could have survived this kind of crash.

Swallowing back bile, she advanced, shining the light inside. “No. God, no!” She stumbled back a few steps, moaning as she hunkered over. No, she had to find courage. What if someone was still alive? She inched closer, gripping the light and using the beam to scan the interior. Long blond hair was matted with blood covering the seat and headrest. The girl was wearing a seatbelt, but the force of the accident had pitched her forward.

Gulping air, Sienna was clearly able to see the damage done to the girl’s head and torso upon impact. She twisted to the side and dry heaved as the scent of blood and gore wafted across her nose. After a few seconds, she wiped her mouth and attempted to peer into the upper section. The boy in the passenger seat had vacant eyes, their last moment having seen sheer horror. Impaled by portions of the dash and what had to be the engine, she could only see down to his shoulders.

Sienna slapped her hand over her mouth and could take no more. Please let the police get here. Please. Shifting, she jerked back and stumbled, falling to the ground. The flashlight was pitched from her hand. She scrambled on her hands and knees in an attempt to grab it before she retched all over herself.

The second she wrapped her hand around the light, the steady beam flashed on yet another victim. This one had been thrown out the back window, tossed like a ragdoll. The light was pointed in the girl’s direction. Nothing would ever erase the vision from her mind. Nothing. Every part of her shaking, she managed to get to her feet and just as she was about to retreat to the safety of her house, she heard what sounded like a single moan.

Against her better judgment, she headed around to the front of the car, avoiding the broken glass and the damaged tree. A single flash inside allowed her to see that the driver was alive, his eyelids fluttering open and closed. The window was down and the young man had a massive gash on his forehead and cheek.

“Help… me…” he managed, his voice garbled. Coughing, he seemed to be trying to move. Her instinct kicking in, she inched closer. “Stay still. Don’t try and move. Help is on the way.” The smell of gasoline mixed with the disgusting copper stench of blood. She swung the light all around. Steam continued to ooze from the engine compartment. This wasn’t good. Not good at all. “I’m going to wait for the ambulance. Okay?”

“No. Please.”

He tried to search for her, his eyes obviously unable to focus. Struggling, he shifted then screamed out in pain.

“Okay. You’re okay. I’ll stay right here with you.” Shivering, from adrenaline as well as the cold breeze, she prayed help would arrive soon.

“Help. Help… Coming to… get her.”

Her? The boy had no idea how terrible the wreck had been. “I know. You’re going to be just fine,” Sienna softened her voice and remained talking to him until she heard sirens in the background. As the sound of roaring engines drew closer, she breathed a sigh of relief. A rumble and squeal of several tires drew her attention as a fire engine, an ambulance and a sheriff’s car rolled up her driveway. “They’re here now. Everything is going to be okay.”

She stepped away, looking at anything but the damning scene as she walked toward the vehicles. Men and women jumped out, of the fire engine, the majority headed straight for the car. A single man approached just as the door to the sheriff’s car opened.

“Ma’am. I’m Captain Frietag of the Goochland Fire Department. Can you tell me what happened?”

His voice was kind, soft and comforting. So damn similar to the one from… No, she had to concentrate. “I didn’t see the accident. I was awakened by the noise.”

Now, I wonder who might come to her rescue? My guess is a sexy cowboy deputy, but you’ll have to wait to find out…

EXCERPT

You have to have her, take her, use her.

The words were never far from his mind.

Christopher wasn’t entirely certain what to expect when he walked into her home, her gleaming kitchen. All afternoon, his anticipation of seeing her, being with her, had kept him from his allotted duties. Even his assistant had commented that his mind was elsewhere. For once, he didn’t mind a bit being sidetracked. Just after four, he’d left the office and headed for a bar. Somewhere along the way, he was sidetracked, taking a detour to the local Home Depot. He hadn’t been in a Home Depot in over a year. There’d been no need in his life.

He chuckled as he held out the new, red rope he’d secured. Seeing the face of the store clerk, who made the mistake of asking Chris what he was purchasing this particular type of rope for, was priceless. The mixture of shock and horror when he answered honestly was quite pleasing. Perhaps he was a sadist. You are a sadist. The thought was comforting.

“You truly look beautiful tonight.”

“Thank you, Sir. I prepared everything as required,” Genevieve said quietly, her eyes shifting down to the bondage material in his hands. “Have you been shopping?”

“Nothing but the best for my girl.” His laugh was much needed, and he could feel his tension easing. She always had a calming effect on him, a moment of pure peace in a sea of bullshit. Dropping his things, he moved toward her. Hearing her call him ‘Sir’ made his cock swell. “Did you forget your required greeting already, my dearest?”

She jerked her head up, her lower lip quivering. “No, Sir. Well, maybe yes, Sir. Ugh.” Very slowly, she leaned over at the waist, lifting the hem of her teddy. A slight moan escaped her lips as she spread her legs and reached her arms back.

He walked closer, every move deliberate, as he surveyed the objects on the table. A smile curled at the corner of his mouth. For some reason, he could tell a difference within her, as if she were ready to let go of the last snippet of control. His submissive ‘G,’ a pet name he’d coined in the beginning, continued to have her ways of usurping his authority. There was no method of breaking this down, only time and complete trust would allow her the freedom of unleashing old wounds. This, he very much respected. “Open those lovely ass cheeks of yours.” As soon as he issued the command, he could hear the single grunt.

“Yes, Sir. I, um…”

“Yes?” He could already tell what she’d forgotten. As he moved behind her, he could hear her breathing change, becoming scattered. He pressed down on her back, fingers drumming against her skin. “Genevieve.”

Yes, he is sexy but can you see the love-hate relationship?

My latest release is a true series involving the love of animals and how they can save and protect our hearts, souls and very lives. Maverick is a Golden Retriever, a carbon copy of one of my furry babies in actions and love. This is my heart child book. A suspense thriller that will keep you on your seat, the passion and love is something you won’t soon forget.

However, going undercover alongside a sexy cowboy cop may destroy her mask of steel. Detective Cody Walker is estranged from his ranch in Montana, taking the only job offered after his involvement in a horrific incident. Working alongside, Shanna and Cody realize the case isn’t what it seems. As they delve into the clues, sparks fly, but both refuse to accept their growing need. Can he save the woman he’s fallen in love with before it’s too late?

EXCERPT

Shanna held up the wine glass. The moonlight cast a smoky haze through the thin crystal. “Stoker and Scotty boy know each other.”

Cody coughed and eased beside her, sitting with his knees bent by the edge of the pool. “You’re observant.”

“Very. I need to be in my line of work. I suspect the little pudge ball of a man works for him. That’s my gut feeling.”

“You made such a wonderful impression on the poor, unsuspecting store clerk.” Cody chuckled and sniffed the contents of the glass.

Dangerous man with gun“He’s a putz. You really don’t know very much about wine. Do you?” Seeing Stoker at the store had almost derailed her.

“Enough to get by when taking a lady out to dinner. Granted, that’s been a solid two years.”

The comment surprised Shanna. She tipped her head in his direction. “Why? Don’t tell me you’re a closet gay guy.”

“You don’t mince words. Do you? And no, I’m not gay. Just…” He looked toward the pool, his brow furrowed.

“Some lady did a real number on you.”

“About as much as whatever guy made you hate all men.”

Shanna snorted. “Let’s drink to remaining single.”

“What’s so special about this wine anyway?” He took a sip of wine.

“Well, it’s priced at almost a thousand dollars a bottle and difficult to find in small wine shops.”

Cody choked, wine spewing past his lips. “Shit. I just lost a good fifty bucks or so. You bought two bottles of thousand dollar wine?”

“A message was sent. Very few people know their wines. They may pretend, purchasing something a friend told them about or a trendy wine, but this one is a sleeper varietal. If Scotty is in the middle of the game of fraud, ears have been perked up all over town.” She’d noticed at least two customers who she knew they’d see again. After taking a sip she smiled. “This is one of the finest wines I’ve ever had. Very seductive in the aftertaste. Rich with a floral aroma that just tickles your nose.”

“You do know your wines.” Cody polished off the remainder. “Let’s have another glass. Shall we?” He stood and grabbed the bottle from the table. When he sat back down he grinned. “Here’s to a one thousand dollar date. One of the best ones I’ve had in a hell of a long time.”

She held out her glass as he poured the rest of the wine into their glasses. Enjoying the moment, she bit her lip and kicked her feet out in the water. The lights were soothing, crimson and electric blue, creating shimmers in the lapping waves. She couldn’t think this way. She had to stick to her guns. There was no going back. Why? Why? Her inner voice had been nagging her all day. No, she couldn’t cave in. Business. Get back to business. “I do know my wines.”

“A resume builder?” He plopped back down and grinned, clinking his glass with hers. “Teasing. Can’t you take a joke? Lighten up.”

“Christine and I have gone to many wine tastings. That’s how she knew I could pass for an expert.” She turned her head before rolling her eyes. After this case, she’d terminate her relationship with Taylor and King. She refused to have anything held over her head. Why did his lips look so kissable tonight? She swallowed hard and hid behind her glass, catching her breath. The wine. Her reaction had to be because of the wine.

“Stoker is attracted to you. That’s for certain. Shit, I don’t blame him. The way you look in that dress. Whew.”

“Why do you say that?” She could tell what Cody was thinking. While his lurid thoughts should make her uncomfortable, instead, she was wet with desire. This wasn’t good. Not at all.

“He in as much told me that I need to control you and that he’d be happy to help. Are you certain he’s never seen you before?”

Shanna laughed. “I kept in the shadows the entire week I was following him. Control? The man has no idea how to control a woman. He’s merely an abuser, just like the majority of men.” Yes, her words were laced with bitterness, her usual defense. “Don’t ask, Cody. Leave it alone.”

Cody sighed and mumbled under his breath. “Wouldn’t dream of delving into your private life, but I’m sorry. You don’t deserve to be hurt in any way. I only hope you can chip away at that block on your shoulder before it’s too late. You also deserve happiness.”

Happiness. She’d love to be happy, sharing life and love with a man, dreams coming true. “You don’t know me. You don’t want to know me.”

“That’s where you’re wrong. I’d like to get to know you, if only you’d drop that suit of armor you’re wearing.” He reached out, brushing the back of his hand across her arm.

Shanna flipped through her notes. “Stop here.”

“Here?” Cody eyed the busy street, searching for a location to park. The sidewalks were crawling with activity. Sidewalk cafes were packed with tourists and locals alike enjoying the warm evening, the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. “Why here?”

“Wine store. One of the best. We should be able to find what I need.”

He had to wonder what she believed necessary. He maneuvered the Ferrari into a space. “Let’s keep a low profile, or as low as possible anyway.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” she asked then climbed out of the car.

“You should have placed a neon flashing sign around your neck. You’re overdressed.”

“My style. Not yours. Remember?” She shot him a look of disdain and slammed the car door, taking off down the sidewalk without waiting for him.

Cody caught up to her quickly and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her in close and whispering in her ear. “You don’t have to like me but you do have to pretend. Remember, anyone could be watching.”

She tilted her head. “Yes, of course. I hope you brought the credit cards.”

“Always the ballbuster. Now, I’m going to take your hand. Act like you adore me instead of wish I were dead.” He grabbed her hand, interlocking their fingers, and tugged her down the sidewalk. The touch was electric, far too intense. His hands sweated instantly and his heart rate skyrocketed. Shanna had managed to get under his skin.

While she didn’t pull away, she remained stiff until they walked inside the quaint shop. When she pulled away, everything about her demeanor had changed. “Look darling. This is the little shop I was telling you about.”

“Find whatever you like, baby. I want you happy.” He scanned the store, making mental note of the various patrons. The majority were well over forty and he suspected given the few prices listed on selected shelves, they were all wealthy.

Shanna swayed her hips as she walked toward the counter, pushing aside several customers. Her smile was huge, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “You know I will. You owe me for last night.”

Cody resisted reacting. They’d already been noticed by just about everyone close by. Flamboyant was her style. “But you said I was delicious last night.” The comment had mixed reactions but none that stood out. Like looking for a needle in a haystack.

She pushed her long hair behind her shoulders and leaned over the counter, winking as the well-manicured man behind the counter flushed. “I’m looking for something extra special tonight. Hubby and I are celebrating.”

Emmanuel 15The man cleared his throat then smiled thinly. “We have many incredible wines. Did you have something in mind?”

“Hmmm…” Brushing the tip of her finger across her lips, she exhaled in an exaggerated fashion her eyes darted to the gold nametag on the clerk’s lapel. “I’m thinking Merlot tonight, Scotty.”

“That’s Scott and all right. Let me show you the section where I think you’ll find exactly what you desire.” The man eased from behind the counter.

She held out her arm, twisting her index finger back and forth. “I always know and get what I want and right now, I desire that you find the wine I’m looking for, sweet Scotty.”

Cody folded his arms. He had to admit, the woman was good. At least six people were lingering, drinking in every detail. Five of the six were men. Two he ruled out immediately. The pudgy golfer types were definitely tourists. The woman was intriguing. Her necklace full of what appeared to be diamonds, she reeked of money. The other three men were all in their mid to late forties, impeccably dressed and extremely attentive. He memorized their faces. They weren’t the few on the suspect list.

Scott’s forehead glistened with perspiration. “What wine would you like? I’ll see if I can find. Please keep in mind that our wines are very expensive.”

Cody was forced to look away for fear of bursting into laughter. At least three people murmured under their breath.

“My dear, sweet Scotty. Money is no object. Isn’t that right, babycakes?” She flashed a look in Cody’s direction.

“As I said, anything your heart desires, my love.” So much for laying low. Cody shifted and walked to the other side of the store. From the vantage point, he caught a glimpse of Stoker Wilde entering the store. An interesting coincidence? Maybe.

“I’d like a bottle, no two bottles of Opus One. Since you’re such a fine establishment, I’m certain you carry the wine?” Shanna twisted, enabling the men already ogling to catch a better glimpse of her cleavage.

“We have a fine 2009 but it’s almost two hundred dollars a bottle,” Scott said in a clipped tone.

Shanna rolled her eyes. “Not the 2009. That’s like drinking grape juice. I’m talking the 2011.”

Whatever kind of wine she’d asked for garnered several reactions from the bystanders. Cody inched closer as did Stoker until they were only two feet apart.

“Your wife has excellent taste,” Stoker said, his tone husky and low.

“Her tastes match her proclivities, a bit wild,” Cody countered. Stoker owned several businesses in the Napa Valley including what many in law enforcement believed to be an exclusive BDSM club. Throwing out the bone was only one tactic.

“Hmmm… You’re a lucky man, although if you ask me, she’s a bit on the impetuous side. If she were mine, a round of discipline would be in order. Yes, she wouldn’t be able to sit down for days.” Stoker grinned and walked away, but his eyes never left Shanna.

One human trait he knew about Stoker was that he usually marked his territory. Stoker’s statement was of intent to conquer. This was Cody’s intuition and not just because he was a cop. As they left the store, walking hand in hand, he noticed Stoker watching their every move. He shivered and he wasn’t entirely certain why.

SAVING SARAH

Keeping her safe proved as challenging as luring her into his bed.

SYNOPSIS

Sarah Thompson set out on a mission to land a husband, anyone who was the complete opposite of her nemesis, Police Chief, Travis Nolan.  But the man didn’t know how to take no for an answer, and thwarted her pursuit every time she turned around.  When he offered her a shocking alternative to issuing her a third, consecutive speeding ticket, the explosion of pleasure she experienced under his painful swats and rough possession left her flummoxed.  Vowing not to let her unruly body veer her off course, she continued her pursuit of a ‘nice’ man, unknowingly becoming a target of a serial rapist.

Travis found his frustration with his temporary foray back into undercover work to correct hero undercover coversearch for a serial GHB rapist and murderer compounded by Sarah’s insistence on a ridiculous man hunt, her search for Mr. Wrong when he, Mr. Right was right in front of her.  Once he felt her come apart under his hand and body, he knew he would do whatever was necessary to keep her safe and in his bed.

When Sarah gets caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and had to rely on Travis to save her, she realized the man for her had been on her doorstep for months.  Now, if only he would arrive in time to save her so she could tell him so.

EXCERPT

An hour later, dawn had yet to peak over the horizon when a sharp rap on the glass pane of the bakery’s front door startled Sarah out of going over the mental list of things she wanted to change about herself while she kneaded a large ball of bread dough.  Blowing upward to get the loosened strands of hair out of her face, she sighed in frustration.  That could only be Chief Nolan stopping by for his daily bag of donuts.  The man seemed to think because he was the police chief, he could command she open an hour early every morning just to accommodate his schedule.  And so far, he had been right because she didn’t have the nerve to tell him no.

“Coming,” she called out, snatching a towel to wipe her hands the best she could as she strode from the kitchen to the front of the bakery. She wished she hadn’t sent Todd to the twenty-four-hour market for a few supplies.  Unlocking the door, she flung it open and glared up, way up, at her nemesis.  Her pulse spiked under the slow stroke of his pewter eyes that was as potent as a caress, a reaction she should be used to by now, but wasn’t.  With her new resolve in place, Sarah refused to be waylaid by the man, law or not.  “Chief, what can I get you this morning?”  Stepping aside, she let him in.

“Good morning to you too, Sarah.”  Reaching into his breast pocket, he pulled out two tickets as she edged behind the counter.  Setting them down, he tilted his Stetson back with a thumb, giving her a better view of a rugged face bronzed by sun and wind and capped with coal black hair.  “You haven’t paid these.”

“I’m sorry, I’ve been so busy, I forgot.”  Picking up the speeding tickets, she winced at hot man with chainsthe fines.  “I can come in this afternoon and take care of them.”

Leaning on the counter, he replied in that slow drawl that never failed to curl her toes.  “Someone should’ve taken you over their knee a long time ago.”

“Chief!  You can’t talk to me that way!  What if someone heard you?” she hissed in alarm.  That look and hint of a threat set her heart to hammering with uncertainty, which didn’t concern her near as much as the sudden warm gush between her legs.  She didn’t even like the man, for pity sake.

“No one’s around.”  Straightening, he pointed to the chocolate long johns.  “Give me three of those, and a large coffee to go.”

Alpha Male – Hero Undercover

Why do we all love the bad boys? You know the type. They’re gritty, all male and have a penchant for danger? They’re also sexy hunks who thrive on passion, savoring their woman in a manner few men can. As readers, we tend to gravitate towards the guy who has a secretive past, sometimes lovable but more so once they’ve met the woman of their dreams.

If you think about your favorite romance novel, why does the hero resonate with you, driving you into a heightened state of desire? The answer is simple, at least in correct hero undercover covermy mind. He’s the kind of guy who won’t take no for an answer. He draws you into his dangerous world, whether as a cop, a mafia man, a biker or a cowboy. He thrives on his rough persona, often alienating so many around him – except for the woman who refuses to give up on the rough and tumble guy, teasing and comforting him in equal measures.

Imagine…  He calls you a brat and one day, out of the blue, yanks you over his knee, lifting your skirt and tugging down your panties. Then he issues a hard spanking with his bare hand. Can you imagine how wet and hot you’d be? Can you see yourself in this position, almost begging for more? I think there’s many a woman who would love to  have her man be this commanding, taking full control. After the intense round of discipline, he’ll carry you in his arms to the bedroom, devouring very single inch, driving you to unbridled heights of ecstasy.

Mmmm… Can you taste his lips, shiver as his hands brush down your arms, his fingers dancing across your skin? Can you imagine the moment you slide your hand down, cupping his groin, closing your eyes as you squeeze his throbbing shaft? Would  you give yourself to such a man, no matter the trickles of fear skating down your back?

I know I would.

That’s why we love to read about alpha males, men who are the Head of Household, Doms who refuse to take no for an answer. Men of power intrigue us. What makes them tick? Why are they so damn frustrating yet drive us to the edge of sanity? The influence of powerful men in business as well as pleasure entice every one of us, even causing some to seek out the resident bad boy in their life. They are chiseled, tall, muscular and often wearing tattoos indicating just how dangerous their nature truly is. Sighs… I’m hungry. What about you?

Alpha males are also often the heroes in our worlds. They are the single person able to save our lives, provide shelter while they enable you to discover passion. They remind us that life is precious and to live your life as if there is no tomorrow.

Hero Undercover is a compilation of 25 novellas from talented authors, including myself, highlighting these types of men in several genres. Coming from Blushing Books, this is the read of the summer and I dare say, will make you wet with intense desire. Available now as a pre-order for only $.99, just imagine sliding into something comfy, grabbing a frosty beverage and settling in for a sizzling read.
